Absolute is headed to Austin, Texas and SXSWedu the week of March 6-9 to talk student technology analytics and more during three separate sessions at this groundbreaking conference. A component of the South by Southwest® (SXSW®) family of conferences and festivals, SXSWedu “fosters innovation in learning by hosting a passionate and diverse community of education stakeholders.”
Absolute will be hosting a trio of sessions at this year’s event, focusing on the conference theme of “innovation in learning” through a series of discussions on how to leverage data analytics in K-12, as well as key topics around student safety when it comes to devices and data.

Student Technology Analytics: Connect Tech & Learning
When: Tuesday, March 7, 4-6 PM
Where: JW Marriott – Salon G
In this session, Jason Short, Absolute’s senior director of product management, will lead a discussion on the importance of maintaining a persistent connection to all endpoints and the data they contain to ensure K-12 classrooms are more secure. And, armed with detailed insight into how devices are being used, educators can better satisfy government funding initiatives, and gain valuable insight into the correlation between technology and student performance.

How can districts measure the impact and outcomes of tech investments, while putting device and user activity into context? In this panel, Jane Nauman of Nauman Educational Consulting will be joined by Richard Henderson, global security strategist for Absolute, and Jason Short to discuss how Student Technology Analytics helps districts embrace the advantages of digital learning while keeping students and technology investments secure.
Protect, Deter, Recover: Data Risks in K-12 Schools

In this session, Jane Nauman, Richard Henderson, and Harold Reaves, global manager of Absolute’s Safe Schools program, will cover the hot topics of student data security, cyberbullying, and Internet crime. Reaves, who is Level V-certified in homeland security, will share his best practices for teaching digital citizenship to K-12 students, staff, parents, and the community.
