European Data Protection Law Under the Spotlight

April 02, 2015

The upcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation, slated to come into force in 2017, proposes some drastic changes to data protection law. The changes will seek to increase penalties for a breach, including possible fines up to 2% of a corporation’s annual global turnover.

In order to help you navigate the choppy regulatory landscape surrounding these new proposals and laws, we have worked with our compliance experts, Jonathan Armstrong and Jerry Ferguson, to put together a series of short videos and whitepapers.

Our video series explores 14 questions surrounding the current security landscape and the proposed European Data Protection Law (EU GDPR). The videos explore topics such as how to be compliant with the EU GDPR, the threats of social media, how to protect the mobile workforce, and particular concerns for US-based organizations in regards to the EU GDPR and other regulations. The questions also explore industry-specific concerns for healthcare organizations and financial service providers.

We invite you to read about the Top 5 Things You Need to Know about the EU GDPR, then take steps to Avoid the Pitfalls of the New EU Data Protection Regime.

Absolute Data & Device Security (DDS) allows organisations to persistently track and secure all of their endpoints within a single cloud-based console. Computers and ultra-portable devices such as netbooks, tablets, and smart phones can be remotely managed and secured to ensure—and most importantly prove—that endpoint IT compliance processes are properly implemented and enforced.
